Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Structural steel plant. Platework fabrication plant. Metal products manufacturing company. Tasks: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers. Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Load and unload vehicle. Read and interpret work orders. Equipment and machinery experience: Dolly. Hand truck. Lifting device. Shotblaster. Hand tools. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
