*Job Overview*
Barrier Group is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable HSE Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting health, safety, and environmental practices within our organization. This position involves developing training programs, assisting with audits, leading onboarding efforts, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The HSE Advisor will work closely with various departments to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
*Responsibilities*
* Develop, implement, and maintain a strong safety culture
* Conduct regular site inspections and visits to identify potential hazards and ensure field compliance with HSE regulations.
* Collaborate with management to create and enforce policies that promote a safe working environment.
* Provide guidance and support to employees on HSE matters, fostering awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
* Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to health, safety, and environmental management.
*Requirements*
* Training in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
* Proven experience in an HSE role within an industrial environment.
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees at all levels.
* Experience in training development and onboarding is highly desirable.
* Ability to create solutions for unique field safety challenges as they arise.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for conducting audits and investigations.
* Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools is an advantage.
* Minimum of 3+ years of previous experience as a HSE Advisor
* Valid Class 5 Driver?s License with 3-year clean Driver?s Abstract
* Certified NCSO is an asset
* CSTS or PCST Certification is an asset
* Standard First Aid Certification
* Must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol testing
