HOC Global Solutions is an owner operated Global Freight Forwarder & Customs Broker for over 50 years. Well respected within the industry this small BC branch office has an opening for a strong data entry clerk who is eager to learn the industry of global logistics. Previous experience in the industry is not required, however data entry experience is preferred.
The position is temporary for leave coverage and employment contract will indicate the leave coverage until April 2026.
However, it is very much possible that this position could be extended to permanent full time after April 2025.
Candidate will work independently, under direction of supervisors.
Primarily job duties will include: Submitting eManifest filings for shipments arriving by ocean/air import department through EDI. Submitting export reports via EDI through government websites for clients. Additionally, the applicant will be responsible for documentation preparation of commercial invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin for VIP client, as well will be responsible to set up files in the computer system for shipments arriving by air/ocean.
Following responsibilities are required.
Attention to detail is mandatory. Quick with processing documentation. Strong organization skills are required.
Shipment tracking, tracing, handling, billing.
Ability to work with various internal computer systems with efficiency.
Excellent communication both verbal and written is required.
Other tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor/managers as required.
This is an excellent opportunity for any candidate to get the ground work of the logistics industry without having had the necessary experience to work within the industry.

As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be essential in maintaining accurate and organized records and details within our logistics operations. This role requires strong computer skills and typing proficiency to efficiently input and manage information accurately. Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
