Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Clean. Work setting: Management. Tasks: Minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Supervise staff. Supervision: 16-20 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Safe quality foods (SQF) Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Hazard Analysis and Criticial Control Points (HACCP) Certification. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Area of work experience: Quality assurance or control. Operations or production. Area of specialization: Operations management. Regulations knowledge: CIP (Cleaning In Place) and SIP (Sanitizing in Place) Systems. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Knowledge of labour relations. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Overtime required. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
