Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. CAD/CADD drafting and/or design technology/technician. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: General office. Office building. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Prepare project schedules. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Provide consultation services to government and other organizations. Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Prepare detailed drawings of sites. Oversee the preparation of detailed drawings of sites. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. MS Access. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Project. MS Word.
