Armstrong Contracting is a small business in Peterborough, ON looking to grow with some eager new workers. Starting with small renovations, we are now moving into bigger builds specializing in ICF construction. Job sites can be up to an hour commute from Peterborough. Armstrong Contracting is looking to hire an experienced carpenter. Previous ICF experience is a benefit but not required. Specializing in ICF construction, framing, renovations, structural work, as well as finish trim work - the ideal candidate should have some background in these categories. Experience is a must. Must have own hand tools, drill, and all necessary PPE as well as a valid G license and own transportation. Requirements: - Proven experience as a carpenter in the construction industry - Proficient in using hand and power tools - Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods - Ability to read blueprints and building plans - Excellent mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions - Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and equipment - Attention to detail and precision in workmanship - Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and customers- Ability to be given directions and work alone Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Commuter benefits Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Overtime * Weekends as needed Licence/Certification: * Driving Licence (required) * Working at Heights Certificate (preferred) Work Location: Must be able to drive yourself to the jobsite. Work is performed in the Peterborough and Kawarthas.
