*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car mechanic / Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and fixing a variety of vehicle issues. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The Automotive Mechanic will work with various tools and equipment, ensuring that vehicles are safe and reliable for our customers.
*Roles and Responsibilities for Car Mechanic*
*Inspect, Diagnose, and Repair*: Examine vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform necessary repairs on engines, brakes, suspension, transmission, and other vehicle systems.
*Routine Maintenance:* Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery inspections, and fluid checks to ensure vehicle performance and longevity.
*Parts Replacement*: Remove and replace worn or damaged parts, including belts, filters, and other components, ensuring vehicles operate efficiently.
*Testing and Adjustments*: Test vehicles after repairs to ensure issues are resolved and the vehicle is functioning properly. Make necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
*Maintain Work Records*: Document all inspections, repairs, and maintenance services performed, including parts used and hours worked.
*Customer Interaction*: Communicate with customers to explain issues, recommend solutions, and provide estimates for repairs and services.
*Ensure Safety and Compliance*: Follow safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Stay updated on new technologies and repair techniques.
*Workshop Maintenance*: Keep tools and equipment in good condition, ensuring the workspace remains clean and organized.
*Skills*
* Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle repairs.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
* Experience using various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
* Familiarity with dealership practices is a plus but not required.
* Capability to maintain detailed records of repairs performed on vehicles.
