Position Title: Medical Detox Manager
*Key role: *The Medical Detox Manager oversees the Safe Harbour medical detox team and ancillary medical service providers. Reporting to the Executive Director, the ideal candidate for this position will have a diverse knowledge and passion for serving vulnerable populations with a specific focus on trauma and the root causes of homelessness, addictions, and mental illness. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Human Services, Teambuilding, Communication, and Leadership with a desire to challenge society?s thinking for positive change.
*Supervises: 13* + permanent and relief staff
*Key Responsibilities:*
· Leading Healthcare provision within a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, case managers and students.
· Overall oversight for documentation, protocols, processes to providing a provision of client care.
· Total oversight of all medication supplies, storage, security and administration.
· Maintain integrity of all program technology including but not limited to Netcare.
· Lead appropriate clinical practice knowledge within your team and the organization including research initiation and participation creating an environment of evidence informed practice.
· Maintain a safe respectful work environment
· Ensure the consent and privacy of clients is maintained consistent with legislation and Safe Harbour policies.
· Ensure staff operate within the scope of their positions and consistent with Safe Harbour policies.
· Identify areas of improvement and innovation to continually enhance services.
· Provide appropriate oversight to Safe Harbour medical staff
· Maintain program statistics and data to support internal and external reporting requirements.
· Ensure compliance to contract reporting obligations, licensing standards, health practices, accounting principles, Accreditation, regulatory bodies and Safe Harbour policy.
· Attend and participate in weekly management meetings.
· Provide support to the Executive Director as required.
*Desired Experience:*
· Minimum two years of management or 4 years of supervisory experience managing teams in a relevant setting. (Required).
· Proficiency in program development and coordination.
· Experience working with multiple stakeholders and or government agencies.
· Experience managing budgets and contracts.
· Superior skill in team building and development.
· Solid background and experience (minimum of two years) working with vulnerable populations, addictions and/or mental health.
