Position Title: Director Global Data GovernancePosition Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Toronto HQ Grade: Grade 07 Requisition ID: 31203 As the Global Data Governance Director at McCain, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise-wide data governance strategy and operating model. You will lead result-oriented cross-functional teams, implement data governance solutions to drive consistency and alignment across McCain's diverse business units and regions, enabling us to harness the full potential of our data assets.This role demands an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial sales domains. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in SAP, Salesforce, data profiling tools, cloud platforms, and reference data systems to the table.Key ResponsibilitiesData Governance:Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, encompassing data quality, privacy, and security, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of McCain's data assets.Establish SOP and document process flows for all data governance initiatives, engaging with stakeholders globally to drive best practice sharing and adoption.Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies, raising awareness of its importance for McCain's success, and implementing corrective actions as needed.Data Quality and Security Management:Oversee the establishment and maintenance of data quality standards.Define quality standards to maintain data accuracy across systems and platforms.Establish metrics and KPIs to enable clear reporting of the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of McCain's data assets.Deploy data quality management tools and processes to monitor data quality performance, remediate data issues, and drive continuous improvement efforts.Partner with platform engineering teams in implementation of new systems to ensure alignment to data governance practices and building business rules and automation upfront.Data Security, Compliance and Risk ManagementOversee data security and privacy measures to protect McCain's data assets from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats.Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards.Identify and mitigate data-related risks across various business processes.Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Expertise in data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices in CPG industry. Proven track record of leadership in global data governance with at least 10 years of experience in data management and analytics.Expertise in Reference Data Management, Data Catalog and Data Quality tools. Extensive hands-on experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.3+ years working with CRM tools for customer data management.10+ years leading data teams in a global organization.Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum) and/or Lean Six Sigma MBB certifications are a plus.Key AttributesExcellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable plans and initiatives.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Proven ability to lead and inspire global teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.Strong project and change management capability to handle multiple projects with conflicting priorities and deliver projects on time with excellence.A true passion for well-governed and accurate data; you know and can explain to others the real business risk of inaccurate or incomplete data.Have a "get things done" attitude.
