Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: All weather conditions. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Clean and pile salvaged materials. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction. Direct traffic at or near construction sites. Rig and hoist equipment. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Assist skilled tradespersons. Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or truck. Ensure adherence to safety regulations. Install sheet metal flashings. Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools. Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level. Ensure safety procedures are followed. Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings. Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions. Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to work independently. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Flexibility. Team player. Adaptability.
