Position #: 002518 Expected Start Date: November 29, 2024 Union: HSAS Facility: Davidson Health Centre City/Town: Davidson Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Casual FTE: 0 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: The EMT will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT will cover standby assignment, as operations require. Human Resources Exemption: No Education- Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)Licenses- Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)- Registered Paramedic (2011 National Occupational Competency Profile standards)- Valid Class 4 driver's license- Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)Other Education and Training- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)Competencies- Basic - Communication skills- Basic - Interpersonal skillsKnowledge and Abilities- Ability to work and communicate in a cross cultural settingOther Information- Employer will endeavour to ensure on-call does not exceed 300 hours in 3 weeks- Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call- Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement- Davidson is located approximately 114 km south of Saskatoon- Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level- For more information on the town of Davidson please visit https://www.townofdavidson.com/ About US The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is the largest employer in Saskatchewan, employing more than 45,000 staff in a dynamic healthcare environment.
