Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Dusty. Noisy. Outdoors. Hot. Confined spaces. Odours. Cold/refrigerated. Work setting: Assembly. Construction. Fabrication. Maintenance. Service. Shopwork. Industrial. Commercial. Various locations. Tasks: Estimate costs and materials. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Prepare bids. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Supervise workers and projects. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CADD Course. Welder Trade Certification. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Pressure Welding Certification. Type of materials: Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Boilers. Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Gas welding machine. Arc welding machine. Area of specialization: Pressure vessels. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding.
