Job Description:
The Controller will be an integral part of the leadership team and responsible for managing the overall accounting operations of the organization. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance and operations leader who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is energized by using their skills and experience to make well thought-out process improvements through collaboration with other leaders. We are seeking a collaborative and proactive individual with strong analytical skills. The Owners and the leadership team will look to you for guidance and advice with respect to the future direction of the company. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and collaborative organization where you can add value to the business through developing best practice accounting processes and guiding the company?s financial decisions. The successful individual will have a keen interest in understanding the operational side of the business and how it relates to accounting, while being able to share that information with the management team.

*Responsibilities and Duties*
* Manage the day-to-day accounting practices
* Provide strategic leadership and direction in all aspects of the accounting operation
* Ensure business risks are appropriately communicated and monitored
* Prepare and maintain financial metrics for reporting
* Analyze and advise on revenue, expenses and balance sheet items
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and manage risk
* Guide the growth the company using financial tools and leverage company?s financial reports to advise the company?s decisions
* Oversee financial reporting, budgets, payroll, tax and financial statements, and other pertinent financial activities
* Manage and monitor Cash flow and provide forecasts
* Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
* Prepare and file quarterly and annual GST statements
* Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against forecast/budget for all divisions
* Mentor and develop the accounting/finance team to foster professional growth and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
*Skills and Qualifications*
* Post-secondary education with a minimum of five to seven years of financial management experience
* CPA designation
* Ability to recognize and communicate efficiency opportunities and implement new processes
* Advanced analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong understanding of IT systems and proficient with all Microsoft products
* Ability to create an environment of possibilities and add positively to the culture
* Excellent understanding of financial management, cost accounting, accounting principles and internal controls specific to a small, dynamic and growing company
* Drive automation and efficiency improvements in accounting systems with a solution-oriented approach, focusing on identifying and implementing business operating efficiencies.
* Proven ability to develop strong relationships based on trust and integrity
* Demonstrated leadership background with the ability to communicate financial information and influence positive change
* Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks online
* Experience in a manufacturing/construction environment considered an asset
