Posting Number : T 2 4 - 398 <p>Date Issued : November 21 , 2024 <p>POSITION <p>Worksite: Strathcona Elementary School<p>Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time 40% (Monday & Tuesday)<p>Assignment Area(s): Intermediate - Grade 4 / 5 <p>Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement) <p>Effective Date: Immediately until not later than March 12, 2025 or return of teacher<p>Please Note : The assignment within this position may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.<p>Deadline for Applications: Friday, November 29, 2024 12:00 pm <p>Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.<p>Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p><p> extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment <p> knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment <p> Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.<p> training and successful experience in teaching intermediate students using Ministry of Education New Curriculum<p> demonstrated ability to plan for and teach all required subjects at this grade level <p> knowledge and demonstrated ability in teaching a well-balanced literacy program to primary students<p> knowledge and demonstrated ability in using sound teaching practices exemplified in SMART learning, Guided Reading, Writing Power, Write Traits, using the Connect, Process, Transform, Reflect process<p> knowledge and demonstrated ability in teaching a well-balanced numeracy program to primary students including the use of S.N.A.P.<p> demonstrated ability effectively address student lagging skills, and demonstrated effective classroom organizational skills to meet student social and emotional needs<p> knowledge of methods for selecting, modifying and adapting instructional materials to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of a diverse group of students <p> knowledge of and proven experience in using current assessment practices to allow students to show what they know and to guide instruction<p> demonstrated willingness to work as part of a team in the planning within the RTI model<p> demonstrated ability using technology to enhance student engagement for a wide range of abilities<p> commitment to being part of a collaborative team involving in-service with colleagues <p> commitment to supporting EBS and school-wide initiatives <p> commitment to implementing all aspects of the Code of Conduct and Behaviour Matrix within the classroom and throughout the school <p> proven ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents<p> proven ability as an effective team member leading school-wide initiative, willing to work collaboratively with staff, parents and administration (School Based Team model) <p> commitment to working with colleagues in an open, accepting manner in order to promote a strong and caring professional learning community<p><p>For Further Information Contact: Michael Kotanko, Principal or Scott Fiddes, Vice Principal (604) 792-9301- LocationChilliwack, BC
