The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), whose main office is located in Kuujjuaq, serving the 14 communities of Nunavik, is looking for a person to work in the capacity of:<p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>FIREFIGHTING TRAINING OFFICER</strong></p><p><strong>(Hybrid, Permanent)</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Under the supervision of the Civil Security Coordinator, the Firefighting Training Officer will implement and keep update the training program, allowing volunteers firefighters of the region to obtain their Firefighter 1 certification and other training deemed necessary from the École Nationale des Pompiers du Quebec (ÉNPQ). The Firefighting Training Officer is responsible for the following duties;</p><p></p><ul><li>Develop and implement a regional recruitment campaign;</li><li>Coordinate, supervise and provide technical assistance to instructors from the region;</li><li>Ensure mentoring and development of firefighting instructors;</li><li>Mentor and promote the acquired competency of the instructors;</li><li>Plan, schedule and organize training courses in all 14 communities;</li><li>Ensure that firefighters receive pertinent, high-quality and coherent qualifying professional training required by the ENPQ or other recognized organizations ;</li><li>Ensure the use and adaptation of the pedagogical and didactic material prescribed by the ENPQ;</li><li>In cooperation with the ENPQ, provide supporting documents on each firefighter;</li><li>Ensure that the training facilities in Kuujjuaq are kept in good working condition;</li><li>Manage funding reports and budget costs and recommend adjustments as required;</li><li>Perform any other related duties as required.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>The selected candidate must :</strong></p><p></p><ul><li>Be a certified firefighting instructor by the ENPQ or willingness to achieve certification</li><li>IFSAC/Pro Board 1001, 1002, 1041 certifications</li><li>Possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience;</li><li>Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;</li><li>Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English and French;</li><li>Excellent planning and organizational skills;</li><li>Possess excellent analytical and communication skills;</li><li>Be available to travel frequently in the Nunavik region.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Place of work: </strong>Anywhere in Canada, with frequents travels in Nunavik.</p><p><strong>Salary</strong>: Minimum: $58 466 annually ? max.: $100 085 annually</p><p><strong>Benefits*: <br><br> </strong>Lodging paid while working in the northern villages;</p><p>Meals and expenses paid while travelling in Nunavik;</p><p>Group benefits including Simplified Pension Plan;</p><p>Vacation: 20 days/year</p><p>Statutory holidays: 20 days including 10 during Christmas holidays</p><p></p><p></p><p><em>The KRG is an equal opportunity employer.
