Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP) is on the hunt for a legendary Security Guard who is armed with a valid BC Security Worker's License and a passion for keeping the world safe. Our serene location, just 15 minutes from Downtown Victoria or the Saanich Peninsula, boasts 35 acres of walking trails, an on-site café (for those much-needed coffee breaks), a fitness center (to keep your superhero physique intact), a community garden (because even superheroes need their green thumb), secure bike storage (because flying is cool, but biking is also awesome), and transit bus availability (for those days when your Batmobile is in the shop). Given our location (4464 Markham Road) and clientele at VITP, most security concerns or incidents that our incredible, and remarkable security staff would deal with tend to be less problematic than what one might experience in a downtown or retail environment. Now, before you don your cape and mask, let's talk perks! Our industry pay is above average because, hey, superheroes deserve more than just a thank you! As part of the VITP Security Team, you'll be the shining face of our organization, providing valuable information to tenants, clients, contractors, and guests with a superhero-level smile. Your outstanding customer service skills will dazzle tenants, their employees, and the public, showcasing your care, ease, and professionalism. Now, let's talk about your super duties: * You'll follow a super-flexible schedule of 4 days on, 4 days off, between 3pm to 11pm). And guess what? We sometimes have extra shifts available because we know you'll love it here so much that you'll never want to leave! * As part of UVic Properties' on-site Health and Safety Designates, you'll help ensure the well-being of our superhero team. * Your keen eye for security will be put to good use as you monitor our facility using high-tech systems, patrol on foot like a stealthy superhero, manage access cards, and keep your finger on the pulse of everything happening during your shift. * Of course, you'll showcase your incredible writing skills by accurately documenting daily shift reports, incident reports, and any out-of-the-ordinary occurrences. Crime doesn't stand a chance against your meticulous record-keeping! * And let's not forget about fire safety! You'll make sure all fire exits are clear and ready for action at all times. Safety first, superheroes! * Oh, and in case of emergencies, you'll be familiar with our injury and illness procedures. Superheroes need to be prepared for anything, right? * As an added bonus, you'll get to escort the public, tenants, and employees between VITP buildings and parking lots, ensuring their safety and feeling like a true guardian of justice. Now, let's see if you've got what it takes to join our superhero squad: * Business equipment knowledge? Absolutely! Computers, copiers, printers, radios ? you'll handle them all with ease, like a true tech-savvy hero. * Basic Security Training License? It's a must! Show us your skills, and we'll welcome you with open arms. * First-Aid Certificate Level C (OFA Level 1 preferred)?
