<p>Classroom Supervisor <p> <p>The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 30,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.<p> <p>The Board conducts intentional recruitment and selection as it seeks to achieve a state of greater equity for employees and students and to diversify its workforce.<p> <p>All qualified applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply and applicants may choose to indicate if they are from a group who has experienced racial or social discrimination. Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Board?s hiring processes.<p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities <p><p> Be available on short notice to replace absent teachers on an emergency basis where no qualified teacher is available (a full day is 6 hours excluding lunch, a partial day is less than 6 hours with pro-rated pay rate)<p> Supervise elementary and/or secondary students in the classroom and other indoor and outdoor spaces ensuring a safe, secure and engaging learning environment at all times<p> Follow instructions left by classroom teacher and/or the Principal/Vice-Principal including the creation and coordination of safe and enjoyable activities for students<p> Manage minor student discipline issues and escalate more serious matters to the Principal/Vice-Principal<p> Promote positive attitudes towards and encourage enthusiasm for learning<p> Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, patience and flexibility<p><p><p> Cooperate with school staff regarding safety protocols, emergency plans and school procedures<p> Be aware of specific student?s medical/ behaviour situations and keep such information strictly confidential<p><p> <p> <p>Who Should Apply <p><p> All candidates are welcome to apply, however, preference will be given to candidates who are able to provide a Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate. We would welcome applicants who can provide and/or a Pastoral Reference, if available but not mandatory.<p> Individuals from a Faculty of Education Program and graduating in 2024 and currently processing/ or awaiting their Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Transitional Certificate.<p> Internationally trained educators who are working through the OCT Accreditation process. <p> Individuals with experience working with and supervising children (ages 3-18) or who have Successfully completed Grade 12 education, or its equivalent is required<p> Individual with Current First Aid and CPR certification.<p> Individuals with ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with students, parents, and staff;<p> Individuals who possess an understanding of and a willingness to support the mission of a Catholic School system<p><p> <p>How to Apply <p>All applications must be submitted through Apply to Education.
