*Pediatrician in Miramichi, New Brunswick* *Location:* Region 7 ? Miramichi Community: Miramichi Facility: Miramichi Regional Hospital *Position Description:* The Miramichi Regional Hospital is seeking a general pediatrician to establish a community practice and provide inpatient care. Horizon?s Miramichi Regional Hospital is situated in the northeastern part of New Brunswick in the city of Miramichi. Horizon has an annual budget of approximately $1.2 billion and has more than 13,000 employees, 1,100 physicians and 1,300 volunteers, as well as 17 foundations, 12 auxiliaries and 8 alumnae organizations. *Job Duties:* * Provide comprehensive care in acute care pediatrics (NICU/PICU), developmental pediatrics, and coordinate diverse subspecialty pediatric services. * Perform clinical duties including, but not restricted to, seeing and assessing patients for routine health and illness care, prescribing treatment, arranging consults, referring to other healthcare professionals as required, and ensuring appropriate follow-up to patients. * Subject to the needs of the organization, inpatient care including daily rounds, may be required. * Teaching responsibilities for pediatric residents, medical students, and others as appropriate. * Practice in a collaborative fashion as a member of an interdisciplinary team and consult with members of other health professions as appropriate. * Participate in any on-call rotas of the Department of Pediatrics (1 in 3), as applicable. * Within the confines of this scope of practice and position description, provide other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Clinical Dept Head of Pediatrics, the Chief of Staff, Medical Director and/or Vice President of Medical Affairs. *Qualifications:* * Must be eligible for license to practice medicine in the Province of New Brunswick. * Must be eligible for membership with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick. * Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. * Must be eligible for malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or equivalent, appropriate to the category of practice. * Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills. * Good attendance and work record. * Physically able to perform assigned duties. *Remuneration:* Remuneration plans for Pediatricians are dependent upon location. More detail will be provided throughout the application process. *Incentives:* * $100,000.00 accompanied by a 4-year return of service for eligible physicians, as determined by the Department of Health. * Moving Expense Allowance reimbursement of up to $8,000 for eligible physicians. *Expected Start Date:* As soon as possible Job Type: Full-time Additional pay: * Signing bonus Benefits: * Paid time off * Relocation assistance Schedule: * Monday to Friday Work Location: In person- LocationMiramichi, NB
