The Carpenter Millwright College (CMC) invites qualified applicants for the position of *ACCOUNTANT.* The CMC is a private college, owned and operated by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Locals 83 and 1178. The CMC provides specialized training in Scaffolding, Interior Systems, Safety, and other areas of pre-employment and carpentry apprenticeship. *WORK LOCATION* 1000 Sackville Drive Lower Sackville, NS *HOURS* Office hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am ? 4:30 pm. *DUTIES:* The successful candidate will perform general ledger accounting tasks including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations. The person in this position will also prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports, prepare financial statements and monthly remittances, collaborate with other departments as required, and utilize accounting software such as Sage to manage financial data efficiently. They will assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, and provide support for corporate finance activities, including budgeting, forecasting and year end preparation. This will be a full-time position. *QUALIFICATIONS:* * Bachelor?s degree or certificate in accounting. * Proven experience working in this field. * Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices. * Proficiency in using Sage accounting software. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping. * Familiarity with tax regulations and corporate financial concepts * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills *SALARY AND BENEFITS* The Carpenter Millwright College offers a comprehensive compensation package with competitive wages, pension benefits, health plan, dental benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
