Salary CGHSL29 the NAPE-HS salary scales $29.62 to $32.62 per hour.Competition Number VAC0003676 Posted Date 2024-11-28 Closing Date 2024-12-4 Demands, duties, qualifications About the RoleThe primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to residents of the John M Gray Long Term Care Centre. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing safe, competent and ethical nursing care while working within their scope. The LPN is responsible to maintain professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Care and reports to the Resident Care Manager. Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalency;Successful completion of an approved LPN education program;Current registration with the Council for Licensed Practical Nurses (Nfld. & Labrador);Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with Meditech is an asset;Breastfeeding education or willingness to complete within specified timeframe;Current certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support);The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct. Duties : (Included but not limited to) Provide safe, competent and ethical nursing care and make decisions within the LPN scope of Practice;Participates in development, revision, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans;Complete Nursing assessment consistent with scope of practiceUse the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident plan of care;Practices independently according to professional and organizational standardsDocuments according to professional and organizational standards;Maintain competency and update knowledge by availing of educational opportunities;Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities;Represents nursing on various committees such as unit council and other communities as deemed necessary;Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team;Keep current with changes by monitoring communications (i.e. verbal, e-mail, communication book, etc.);Administer Medications;You may be required to float to different units as requiredOther related duties as required; Financial incentives that may be available, and can be combined, include: Student Bursaries up to $5,000Long-Term Care Recruitment Bonus of $4,300Labrador Grenfell Sign On Bonus up to $16,000Possible Relocation assistance and supportA Return in Service is required to avail of incentives.- LocationSt. Anthony, NL
