Senior Project Landscape ArchitectPlan and Design the Best! The City of Kelowna, situated in the heart of the beautiful Okanagan valley, boasts a stunning setting and year-round recreational pursuits. Kelowna has over 200 city parks, all of which showcase why our city has won multiple ?Community in Bloom? awards. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Landscape Architect! The successful applicant will be responsible for the strategic and schematic planning and design of City parks, urban spaces and public art projects and will supervise junior staff and assist the Department Manager with staff mentoring and performance evaluations. The position will oversee the selection of consultants, manage resources, overseeing project communications, strategic planning, preliminary design, detailed design, scheduling, and budgeting, and monitor projects through tender preparation for City of Kelowna parks and public spaces, as well as guide projects such as City beautification and monumentation. Projects will include strategic plans, concept plans and design for new construction, renewal, alteration, rehabilitation, or improvements to parks and urban realm, monumentation, beautification and public art. This position will take professional responsibility for projects and seal drawings, as required. Utilize your related design experience to help enhance Kelowna?s beautiful landscapes and infrastructure. Requirements: Landscape Architectural Degree (or equivalent degree) Professional Registered Landscape Architect or alternate equivalent professional designation (e.g., Engineer / Architect registered or eligible for immediate registration in BC with comparable landscape architecture experience.) A minimum of 5 years of landscape architecture experience, including strategic planning and budgeting, design development, project management, tendering, construction, and contract administration in the municipal environment Experience with management of junior technical staff, consultants, and contractors Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively lead a team and work collaboratively Project management & attention to detail Digital illustration, artificial intelligence software regarding illustration, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, CAD skills are an asset.
