*Warehouse Supervisor*
The warehouse supervisor will work closely with Regional and HWY Planners to load and unload freight as required. Additionally, this position will manage and maintain a clean and organized warehouse and dock area. The warehouse supervisor will participate in the activities that support Operations.
*Reports to: Operations Manager*
*Direct Reports ? *Hourly dock workers
*Responsibilities:*
* Maintain dock and warehouse facilities
* Maintain warehouse garbage disposal
* Maintain clear and clean steps into dock and front entrance
* Maintain and ensure sand is provided (as required)
* Review manifests, load sheets as required to load and unload freight
* Ensure inventory is kept up to date at all times and ensure billing is always aware of changes
* Coordinate with Brokerage loading and unloading freight from other carriers
* Maneuver trailers as required between yard (staging area) and dock
* Load and Unload freight as required by US/CD Planners
* Coordinate any/all de-stuff activities
* Continuously communicate with Planners and Brokerage on the status of loading and unloading
* Print, receive and complete Manifests for (un)loading freight, upon completion sign and file, identify any OS&D to CSR and Safety and follow Proc. 3B & Proc. 11B.
* Utilize the VMB to communicate the status of any Partner Carriers loading or unloading
* Supervise dock laborers as required to support (un)loading and de-stuffing freight, this may include calling and managing an employment service provider
* Periodically provide shunting support when required (If AZ Licensed)
* Conduct complete customer inventory as required
* Update load status of trailers/containers in Fleet Manager system
* Coordinate and manage communication with customers products stored in warehouse, escort and ensure the safety of non-employed people at all times when within EG Gray warehouse
* Follow all relevant legislation and company policies and procedures
* To represent EG Gray Transportation in a professional and courteous manner
*Minimum Qualifications and Skills Requirements*
* Education equivalent to completion of High School
* Minimum of 3 to 4 years in related occupation
* Able to function effectively under pressure and as a member of a multidisciplinary team with a minimum of supervision
* Excellent listening, motivating, communicating and negotiating skills
* Strong geographical knowledge, highway traffic rules, regulations and equipment specifications
* *Fork-lift license (Mandatory)*
* *AZ license OR able to drive manual shunt truck and park 53' trailers (Mandatory)*
*Effort*
* Decision making is highly diversified and complex where the employee is involved in planning, analysis and coordination of matching freight and equipment
* Initiative ? works with general direction and guidance to ensure internal customer and driver satisfaction is achieved and timely ? must be able to prioritize and organize with little direction
* Regular use of computer and other office equipment requiring coordination and speed produces limited fatigue
* Work is generally specialized where errors could result in costly reworking of data and/or customer service failures
* Tact and courtesy is required
* Normal pressures for production and completion of work
*Working Conditions*
* 45-hour work week ? Monday then Wednesday thru Saturday ? 11:00AM to 8:00PM ? shifts may vary
* Fast paced environment with some deadlines and pressures
* In-doors, out-doors, warehouse standing, sitting
* Operating a fork-lift
* Operating a tractor/trailer
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
