Sure Good Foods provides experienced trading in pork, beef and poultry markets as well as more unique and diverse proteins. We source products from around the globe and ship to over 50 international markets. The team of traders at Sure Good Foods have established long standing relationships with our vendor partners. We work with these vendor partners to develop custom product solutions to meet customer specific requirements. Being established as a global leader in the frozen meat business, Sure Good Foods is presently expanding its product line to include frozen vegetables, fruits, juice concentrates and purees.
*Position Summary:*
The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit department's operations, including credit analysis, risk assessment, and the management of credit policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure that the company's credit policies are adhered to while optimizing customer relationships and minimizing financial risk.
*Key Responsibilities:*
· *Credit Analysis:* Evaluate credit applications and determine creditworthiness using financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
· *Policy Development:* Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies and procedures to ensure effective risk management and compliance with regulations. Review and update the company?s credit policy when necessary.
· *Risk Management:* Monitor accounts receivable and assess potential credit risks, making recommendations for credit limits and payment terms. Maintain detailed records of company loans. Create a credit scoring model to assess risks.
· *Customer Relations:* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate effective communication and resolution of credit-related issues. Evaluate potential customers creditworthiness.
· *Team Leadership:* Lead and mentor the credit team, providing guidance and support in day-to-day operations and professional development.
· *Reporting:* Prepare and present regular reports on credit risk, collection performance, and overall departmental effectiveness to senior management.
· *Collaboration:* Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to align credit policies with business objectives and support company growth.
· *Collections Management:* Oversee the collections process, including follow-ups on overdue accounts and negotiating payment arrangements.
*Qualifications:*
· Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
· At least 5 years of experience in credit management required; in a similar industry, an asset.
· Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
· Proficiency in credit analysis tools and software.
· Leadership experience with a focus on team development and performance management.
· Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
· Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
· Experience in finance and foreign currencies an asset.
· Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet demanding deadlines.
· Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to deal with confidential information.
