Peak provides a variety of diagnostic testing and services (pulmonary function testing, sleep apnea testing/assessment/treatment and home oxygen) as well as Specialist Consultations including Respirology, Allergy, Internal Medicine, and many more! Peak Medical Group is currently seeking motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists that possess critical thinking skills combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Moderate to advanced computer skills and a flexible schedule are required. The Respiratory Therapist would be required to provide quality patient care and education. We are currently hiring Respiratory Therapists for our Pulmonary Function Laboratories in Calgary. The individual(s) selected for the position will be responsible for performing quality testing and assessments as well as providing education for patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders. The role frequently requires close communication with Respirologists based out of various locations, administrative staff, Clinical Managers, and the Director of Clinical Services/Education. Training will be provided. *Please Note: This position is part-time or full-time.* *Specific Responsibilities:* * Perform Pulmonary Function Testing (Spirometry, Lung Volumes, Diffusion Capacity, Methacholine Challenges, MIPs/MEPs, Oximetry and Arterial Blood Gases). * Perform valid calibrations and verifications. * Quality testing/assessments including proper coaching and appropriate charting/documentation. * Ability and knowledge to respond to critical values. * Provide disease education, smoking cessation, and inhaler technique to patients. * Responsible to help create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment. * Enter chart notes and patient information into EMR (patient vitals, symptoms, history and other medical information as applicable). * Effective communication with other RTs, Physicians, administrative staff, Managers and Directors. *Qualifications:* * Graduate of an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy is required. * Experience in Pulmonary Function Testing is an asset. * Certified Respiratory Educator Certification is an asset. * Current CSRT and CRTA registrations are required. * Current Heart and Stroke HCP BLS is required. * First Aid Training, WHMIS and ACLS Certifications are an asset.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook. * Experience with previous EMR use is an asset. * Ability to work under pressure and multitask. * Ability to travel to various locations (Calgary and surrounding area). * Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal, reliable vehicle. *Please visit our Website www.peakmedicalgroup.ca* *Note: *All employment is conditional upon completing and obtaining a satisfactory background check, including educational, employment, references and other relevant verification depending on the position.
