*Hours*: 35 hours per week (Full-time Permanent)
*Wage*: $27.50 - $30.50

Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation is a charitable not-for-profit corporation that manages rental units and develops safe and affordable housing for low and modest income individuals and families within the city. We are currently seeking for an exuberant individual to join our team as the Senior Accountant. Reporting directly to the Manager of Accounting Services, the Senior Accountant will perform a variety of day-to-day accounting functions, month-end closing processes, and assist with monthly financial statements.
*Qualification:*
The position is ideal for an individual pursuing a professional accounting designation and is currently enrolled in the mid to later stages of the CPA PREP program or of equivalent competency. Additionally, the candidate will also satisfy the following requirements:
· Diploma in Accounting or relevant post-secondary education.
· Working towards a CPA designation:
· 2 to 3 years? experience in full cycle accounting or of experience in a similar role
· Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office; specifically a mastery in Excel
· Self-starter, driven, go-getter and detail oriented (Training and growth development is available to the selected candidate)
· Proven organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively, shift priorities and manage time efficiently to meet tight deadlines
· Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Proven to be able to work independently and as part of a team
· Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal
*Desirable:*
· Knowledge in the subsidized housing for the not-for-profit sector
· Knowledge with the Residential Tenancies Act and the Manitoba Condominium Act
· Familiar with ERP systems and experience with ERP switch over with be an asset.
*Key Responsibilities:*
· Full cycle accounting
· Monthly financial statements reporting and internal reports
· Account reconciliations and expenditure monitoring including error follow-up and correction
· Variance analysis, project costing and budget control
· Assist with year-end audits
· Monitor and assist with accounts payable and receivable
· Bank reconciliation and/or accounting for cash receipts
· Monitor internal controls and compliance with internal policies
· General IT support and ad hoc duties
