Local 1310 and external applicants<p>FROM: Human Resource Services Officer,<p>Administrative and Support Staff Services<p>SUBJECT: Available Position<p> <p>Building automation systems (BAS) Technician <p>The Maintenance Services Department of the Simcoe County District School<p>Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building Automation<p>Systems (BAS) Technician. Reporting to the BAS Supervisor, the BAS Technician<p>will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing emergency,<p>preventative, and planned installation/upgrading of Building Automation Systems<p>throughout the Simcoe County District School Board as required to meet<p>operational needs. Current Ontario Certificate of Qualification - Electrician,<p>or Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Mechanic (HVAC/HVAC-R), or Gas<p>Technician (G1) is mandatory to be considered for this position.<p>2. Ability to read, write and interpret electrical and<p>mechanical drawings and schematics.<p>3. Experience with troubleshooting BAS, HVAC,<p>plumbing, gas, and hydronic heating systems, as well as associated auxiliary equipment and controls.<p>4. Knowledge in the components and control<p>sequences of boilers, chillers, air handlers, hot water heating system<p>components, DDC controls.<p>5. Experience with computer software/hardware and file<p>management.<p>6. Experience reading basic language programming.<p>7. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational<p>and time management skills. <p>8. Computer literacy and experience sufficient to operate<p>Facility Services Computerized Maintenance Work Order System.<p> <p>9. Preference will be given to candidates who have a<p>working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS);<p> <p>10. Ability to work<p>effectively and cooperatively as a team member in a multi-disciplined team and<p>with staff, students, and public.<p>11.
