Reporting<p>to the Supervisor of Mechanical Systems, while working in a multi-disciplinary<p>team this position provides emergency, preventive, and planned maintenance services<p>to plant heating and cooling systems. This<p>position focuses particularly on chemical treatment of all closed loop heating<p>systems, chilled water systems and<p>cooling towers and associated equipment throughout Simcoe County District<p>School Board. Responsibilities include<p>repairing of mechanical pipe leaks, pumps, and associated equipment for heating<p>and cooling systems. <p> <p><p> <p> <p> <p> SCHOOL <p> <p> <p> LOCATION <p> <p> <p> STATUS <p> <p> <p> DAILY <p> HOURS <p> <p> <p> WEEKLY HOURS <p> <p> <p> POSTING # <p> <p> <p> ATE Ref. # <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Maintenance Services<p> <p> <p> County wide<p> <p> <p> 1.0 FTE - Full-Time Permanent Position<p> <p> <p> 8.0<p> <p> <p> 40.0<p> <p> <p> CU-70<p> <p> <p> 3873469<p> <p> <p> <p><p> <p>Shift: As required<p>Salary Range: $32.29 - $35.22 per hour (Plumber - BAS rate)<p>Start Date: As soon as possible <p> <p>Qualifications<p>and Skills Required <p>1 <p>A current Certificate of Qualification as<p>a licensed Plumber/Steamfitter is required. <p>2 <p>Applicants with that also posses as<p>Certificate of Qualification as a Gas Fitter (G1) would be considered an asset.<p><p>3 <p>Knowledge in the components and<p>treatment of closed water system loops.<p>4 Knowledge of the design and<p>operation of open water treatment systems including cooling towers, fluid<p>coolers and evaporative coolers.<p>5 <p>Knowledge of water softener<p>systems including setup and operation.<p>6 <p>Ability to read, write and interpret<p>electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.<p>7 <p>Experience with troubleshooting, service<p>and repair of hydronic heating systems, HVAC and refrigeration, plumbing, gas, and<p>oil burners, as well as associated auxiliary equipment and controls.<p>8 Knowledge in the components and control<p>sequences of boilers, chillers, air handlers, hot water heating system<p>components, DDC controls.<p>9 Computer literacy and ability to work<p>effectively with a variety of computer software programs, such as MS Word,<p>Excel, Outlook, and the Facility Services Computerized Maintenance Work order<p>system. <p>10 Excellent<p>interpersonal, communication and time management skills. <p>11 Ability to work as<p>a team member in a multi-disciplined team and with staff, students, and general<p>public.<p>12 The successful<p>incumbent will be required to be on-call after hours on a rotational basis<p>which will classify this position as Plumber (BAS rate).<p>13 A valid Ontario<p>Drivers Licence is a requirement and proof thereof will be requested on hiring.<p> <p>Preferred<p>Qualifications and Skills <p>1. <p>Working at Heights fall arrest safety training.<p>2. <p>Lock out tag out/Control of hazardous energy.<p>3. <p>Building Automations Systems.<p>The duties,<p>responsibilities and requirements for this position are not limited to the<p>above but may also include all of those in the Job Description for Plumber. This<p>position will be required<p>to be on-call and/or work after hours where required on a rotational basis to<p>assist with operational needs. Compensation will be provided for on-call work<p>in accordance with the CUPE collective agreement.
