*Position Summary:*
As our organization grows, we are seeking a community minded and passionate Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator will oversee the administration and data management of all programs at LIFE\*SPIN, providing oversight, support and leadership to the volunteers and staff of these programs. This position will also oversee our newest program, Food Foundations for Self-Reliance (FFSR), which is focused on empowering low-income communities, through environmentally-focused approaches to growing food security. The role requires a blend of strong leadership, attention to detail and data management.
*Job Responsibilities:*
Administration and Data Management
* Keep detailed monthly statistics on all programs utilizing database
* Review and enter client data in a timely manner to keep database updated
* Mange program budgets with Supervisor
* Approve the purchase of necessary supplies and equipment with Supervisor
* Coordinate volunteer recruitment to meet program?s needs
* Strategize and implement policies and practices to keep programs running smoothly
* Help prepare funding applications for grants and other sources
* Manage communication between program staff/volunteers, the organization, and relevant external stakeholders
Food Foundations for Self Reliance Program Management
* Manage the FFSR project?s staff and volunteers, keeping them motivated and solving any problems that may arise
* Conduct community needs assessments to identify low-income neighborhoods eager for community change
* Work in community with neighborhoods for transformative neighborhood change
* Coordinate in partnership with On the Move Organics, our community food box program
* Coordinate plain language resources with staff for distribution in community food boxes
*Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:*
* Minimum 3 years of related work experience in program coordination, data management or a related field
* Post-secondary degree or diploma in non-profit administration, social justice and peace studies or a related field
* Experience using MS Office, comfortable in a digital environment, and adaptable to learning new applications and systems
* Experience working with various populations
* Strong organisational skills, including task management
* Knowledge and experience in community development approaches and practices
* Works well independently as well as in a team environment
* Able to bring together different community members to the table to discuss community change
* Experience in writing proposals for funding
* Knowledge in program development and project management
*Assets:*
* Knowledge of the work of LIFE\*SPIN and low-income systemic issues in our community.
* Knowledge of Community Economic Development principles (how does this work on the ground?)
* Knowledge in government programs and barriers faced by low-income members of our community and accessing them
