Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Manufacturing or processing industry. Food processing industry. Tasks: Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems. Design power plants, machines and equipment. Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures. Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs. Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems. Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems. Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance. Print in 3D. Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications. Install equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AutoCAD Certification. SOLIDWORKS Certification. Type of service and repair: Programmable logic controller (PLC). Computer and technology knowledge: SolidWorks software. AutoCAD. MS Office. Equipment and machinery experience: Motors and controls. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Willing to travel internationally. Travel expenses paid by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Sound discrimination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Large workload.
