*THE OPPORTUNITY*
The Senior Accountant, reporting directly to the Controller, is a key member of the Finance team who will lead the accounting and financial reporting process for three not-for-profit organizations and provide timely financial information to management and the board while ensuring the overall integrity and accuracy of financial data.
This role also supports quantitative and financial analysis to support decision making for proposals and expansions projects, and supports fundraising analytics, data mining, and statistical modelling to further donor growth.
*RESPONSIBILITIES*
_The following are key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:_
Reporting:
· Reviewing monthly reconciliation, accounts payable and receivables
· Preparing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
· Preparing financial reports for funding submissions
· Preparing annual T3010 Registered Charity Information Return
· Preparing reports for various stakeholders and government bodies as required
Fund Development:
· Supporting the preparation of batching reconciliations to match payments/deposits with event revenues
Accounting & Audits:
· Ensuring adherence to internal and external financial and administrative policies
· Maintaining strong internal controls
· Liaising with external auditors in the completion of annual financial statement audits
Financial Analysis:
· Supporting quarterly financial forecasting and financial models to reflect changes to operations
· Providing support to the Controller with ad hoc reports and analysis
*Budgeting:*
· Supporting the Controller in the annual budgeting process
*General:*
· Supporting operational process improvements and the development and implementation of new systems

· Vacation relief in conjunction with the Accounting Administrator for the Office Administrator role
*CANDIDATE PROFILE*
· Post-secondary degree in accounting or finance is required and a recognized accounting designation is preferred
· 3-5 years? experience within a similar role with progressive experience relating to accounting, finance and organisation operations
· Excellent knowledge and use of enterprise accounting software, in all accounting functions, including AP, AR, and Reporting
· Advanced capabilities with Excel, and a proficiency with other MS office applications
· Critical and analytical thinker while being detail oriented
· Adept at problem solving

*COMPENSATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT*
· A comprehensive total compensation package is offered including a base salary in the range of $65,000 ? 75,000 per year depending on experience (with some flexibility).
