Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Office of health care professional. Home care and visiting care agency. Instruct in the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices and wheelchairs. Arrange for billing for services. Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams. Bill third party insurers. Help with scheduling and workflow. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Prepare medications for clients. Install medical equipment . Help pharmacists. Enter client information in databases. Ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate. Coordinate patient care.
