*Overview* Clean and sanitize food manufacturing equipment, facilities and utensils in a safe manner while following Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety Policies and Company Procedures. Essential Job Functions/Duties * Washing and sanitizing equipment, containers and surfaces inside and outside the Plant to maintain sanitary conditions in production areas without equipment damage or safety incidents in accordance with established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and plant H&S Requirements * Disassembly and assembly of equipment where appropriate * Handling and mixing chemicals * Performs other housekeeping and/or janitorial tasks including trash/waste removal, facility grounds keeping activities, etc. * Adhere to any lockout procedures and report any broken, damaged or unsafe equipment * Comply with food safety and quality assurance standards (GMP and HACCP etc.) * Perform Pre-operational quality, safety, and sanitation checks * Communicate information about sanitation equipment problems with the Supervisor or Team Leader * Other duties as directed by Supervisors *Job Characteristics* * Consistent 40 hour work week (overtime may be required in based on production scheduling) including weekend work (Saturday and Sunday). * This position requires the operation of high pressure washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing * Cold, wet environment *Job Qualifications:* * Knowledge of standard cleaning and sanitation procedures, chemicals, products and equipment * Previous commercial/industrial cleaning experience is an asset * Ability to work well under pressure and with little supervision * Own transportation or be willing to share transportation (public transportation not available for all end times) * Ability to handle heavy lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 30kg * Ability to work on a step ladder and work at moderate heights * Experience with food safety and HACCP principles * Must work with an attention to detail and take pride in a job well done * Good communication skills and able to work well in a team environment * Ability to read and understand labels and instructions * Reliable and punctual Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Pay: From $17.60 per hour Benefits: * Casual dress * Dental care * Extended health care * Vision care Ability to commute/relocate: * Belleville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Application question(s): * Do you have your own vehicle?
