*Description of position*
The job requires a Hearing Instrument Practitioner who will assess hearing under an audiologist's supervision and direction. The clinician will also provide dispensing services which includes verifying and validating hearing instrument performance according to an audiologist's prescription, direction, and supervision.
*Daily tasks and responsibilities*
* Identify themselves as Hearing Instrument Practitioner (HIP) prior to starting all appointments and receive consent.
* All tasks/procedures related to assessments of hearing for the purpose of dispensing hearing aids (including history taking, air and bone conduction thresholds, speech testing, etc.) as assigned and supervised by an audiologist.
* All tasks/procedures related to the dispensing of hearing aids (including fitting, adjustments, verification, validation, impression taking, shell repair, and modifications) as assigned and supervised by an audiologist.
* Adhere to all infection control and privacy and confidentiality standards.
* Maintain appropriate and complete records and documentation which will be reviewed and approved by an audiologist and must identify the clinician as a HIP.
* Knowledgeable about all products and services related to the hearing centre.
* Committed to providing the highest level of member service.
* Escorts members into the hearing testing facility and opens/closes doors when required.
*Non-essential functions and tasks*
* Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
*Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates must possess)*
* Registered/Licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioner with all qualifications to dispense hearing aids in your province.
* Registered (or eligible for registration) with the regulatory College in your province and/or Member in Good Standing with your Provincial Association with any required licensing for practice.
* Clinical experience is preffered.
* Attention to detail and technical aptitude. Strong organizational and time management. Position requires a fully licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioner.
* A practical test will be performed.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $33.00-$43.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 ? 40 per week
