Position #: 151998 Expected Start Date: January 06, 2025 Union: HSAS Facility: La Ronge Health Centre City/Town: La Ronge Department: Addiction Services Community Clinics & Programs Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Hours of Work: 224 hours per 6 weeks Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Diploma $29.584 to $36.176 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: Restores, maintains and enhances the recovery of clients seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related impacts by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience- An equivalent of education and experience may be consideredEducation- Addictions Counselling diplomaLicenses- Valid Class 5 driver's licenseCompetencies- Advanced - Problem solving skillsKnowledge and Abilities- Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms- Knowledge of addictions interventions involving drugs, alcohol or tobacco- Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change- Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies- Knowledge in holistic addictions treatment model- Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions- Knowledge in applying a cognitive-behavioral or other major modes of therapy- Knowledge in group dynamics- Demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the individual.- Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery- Knowledge in factors affecting family dynamics- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary teamOther Information- For more information on the town of La Ronge please visit https://www.laronge.ca/- La Ronge is located approximately 241 km north of Prince Albert- Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement About...For more information on this job, please visit the employer's website.- LocationLa Ronge, SK
