The Government of Alberta has increased its education budget by 4.5% in 2025-2026, and has allocated $184M to hire 4,000 new education staff. This includes teachers, bus drivers, and educational assistants. About $55M is set aside to address classroom complexity, which includes both the training and recruitment of educational assistants.

The University of P.E.I. was only able to attract just over half of the students that it can accommodate in its French as a second language Bachelor of Education program, which has 30 spots. This year, the Commission scolaire de langue française (CSLF) is offering scholarships of up to $5,000, which cover a portion of the tuition.
