The federal government is granting over $10M to 11 businesses and organizations in Gaspésie to support their development. The total investment in these 11 projects is valued at nearly $86.5M.
The Centre de services scolaire René-Lévesque awarded a $5.2M contract to A.G.M. Construction from Saint-Antonin to renovate the municipal pool in Chandler. The pool is located at the Polyvalente Mgr-Sévigny high school. The project is scheduled to be complete in August 2025.
The Municipalité de Saint-Siméon invested over $1.66M in building its outdoor centre. The Government of Quebec funded nearly 60% of the project cost.
The Eastern Shores School Board is investing $30.3M in building the École régionale de la Baie-des-Chaleurs, an Anglophone school in New Carlisle. General contractor Habitat Construction Matane was awarded the contract, which will end in November 2025.
The Riverside School Board will expand the John-Abbott school in Delson. The value of the project has not yet been confirmed. Work will begin in the summer of 2025 and should be completed by the beginning of the 2026 school year.
The Ville de New Richmond is investing $5.6M in building its new garage. The project is receiving $4.2M in funding from the Government of Quebec. LFG Construction, a contractor from Chaleur Bay, is carrying out the project. The project is scheduled to be complete by the spring of 2025.
