The federal and provincial government have finalized a 10-year agreement under the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund, allocating $209.8M to improve Manitoban infrastructure related to drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste. Winnipeg’s North End Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade project will also receive $150M through this fund over four years starting in 2026-2027.

The Rural Municipality of Ritchot is receiving $566K through the federal government's Housing Accelerator Fund to address housing gaps in the municipality. The rural municipality is aiming to build 51 housing units. Should they meet performance targets, the funding could increase to $2.27M over the next four years.
The Louis Riel Bridge in Ritchot’s Ste. Agathe neighbourhood is closing over the next few weeks to undergo major foundation and construction work. The Government of Manitoba has provided $48.6M to support the bridge improvement project which began in August 2024.
The Government of Canada is providing over $240M to support 105 housing projects in building, repairing, and renewing 3,765 homes across Manitoba. The funding is part of the National Housing Strategy initiative to address housing needs for diverse communities and vulnerable populations.

The Government of Manitoba is building a new K-8 school in West St. Paul’s Meadowlands development. The school will offer a dual-track French and English curriculum, accommodating over 600 students and 74 infant and preschool child-care spaces. Design work will start in the coming months, with construction scheduled for early 2026 and opening anticipated for September 2027.
