The Government of British Columbia has announced increases to the Film Incentive BC tax credit and the production services tax credit. The province is also restoring its regional and distant location tax credits for companies located outside of Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Whistler-Squamish.

According to data from Statistics Canada, British Columbia lost 7.9K jobs in May, 2024. The month previous, the province had reported a gain of 23K jobs. B.C. saw the biggest losses in information, culture and recreation jobs in part due to continuing impacts from the Hollywood strikes that froze the industry last year.
